My journey into permanent makeup began in 2017 and, like many things in life, it started very close to home. I was inspired by two very different experiences my mum had - one being a less-than-great eyebrow PMU treatment, and the other an incredibly positive areola reconstruction tattoo experience. Seeing both ends of the spectrum showed me not only the impact poor work can have, but also the confidence and transformation exceptional work can create. It sparked a fascination with the industry and a passion that quickly became my career.
From the beginning, my training was built on strong foundations. I completed an intensive programme where technique and precision came before anything else - including over 70 full sets of brows on practice mats before progressing to working on people. At the time it felt endless, but looking back, that process taught me something invaluable: beautiful work is never rushed, and exceptional results are built long before a machine ever touches skin.
Since then, education has remained at the heart of everything I do. I’ve completed multiple advanced masterclasses with industry leaders, achieved my Level 4 PMU qualification, and continue investing in refining my skills. I genuinely believe expertise is something you continually build on - because this industry constantly evolves, and I love evolving alongside it.
In 2019, I joined Elite Aesthetics by Roxie full-time, focusing primarily on permanent makeup while gradually expanding my treatment offerings. I introduced laser tattoo removal in 2021 and fine line tattooing in 2022, and the three quickly became the treatments I’m most passionate about. Together they work seamlessly, allowing me to create, enhance, refine, correct and also erase ink that no longer serves us.
For the past nine years, I’ve specialised in working with smaller needle configurations, favouring precision, detail and soft, refined results. Tiny needles are very much my thing. I’m meticulous in my approach and deeply passionate about client education because I believe confidence comes not only from beautiful results, but also from understanding the process. I never want clients to feel overwhelmed or unsure - I want them to feel informed, comfortable and completely looked after.
In 2026, I took the leap and launched Brydge Ink - a space built around everything I value: artistry, education, precision and an elevated client experience that still feels personal and welcoming.
Brydge Ink was created with intention, and the name itself carries meaning far beyond aesthetics. ‘Brydge’ is a part of my own surname, chosen from my maternal grandmother’s maiden name and carried forward to intertwine with my husband’s surname - creating a sense of identity and connection as I stepped into married life, making it something deeply personal and rooted in family, legacy and connection. It also reflects the philosophy behind everything I do: bridging the space between transience and permanence. We grow, change and evolve throughout life, and sometimes the things we once chose no longer reflect who we are today. Through PMU, laser tattoo removal and fine line tattooing, I’m able to help clients erase, enhance and evolve - whether that means letting go of something that no longer fits, refining what’s already there, or creating something entirely new. Brydge Ink exists to honour that process; because transformation isn’t always about starting over - sometimes it’s simply about creating a bridge between who you were and who you’re becoming.
Outside the studio, life is centred around family. I married my incredible husband in 2022 and we welcomed our son in 2024 (the most delightful boy who teaches me more and more every day). Our home life is made that bit more wonderfully chaotic by our two very characterful dogs, and our very elderly cat who has absolutely reached the stage in life where rules no longer apply.
For me, this industry has never just been about treatments. It’s about confidence, trust and connection. It’s about helping people feel like the very best version of themselves. I still feel incredibly lucky that something which started with bad brows, good intentions and a fascination with tiny needles somehow became the career I genuinely love.
And all these years later, that original lesson still guides everything I do: details matter, and exceptional results should never happen by chance.
