PERMANENT MAKEUP

eyebrows, eyeliner, lips

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattooing treatment designed to enhance your natural features with soft, beautifully balanced results. Whether you’re looking to define your eyebrows, add colour to your lips, or create the appearance of fuller lashes or add your everyday liner, permanent makeup offers a long-lasting solution that saves time while helping you feel confident every day.

Unlike traditional makeup, permanent makeup won’t smudge, wash away, or need reapplying throughout the day. Every treatment is individually tailored to suit your facial features, skin tone, lifestyle, and personal preferences, creating results that look effortless rather than overdone.

At Brydge Ink, the focus is always on creating natural, wearable enhancements. Careful consultations, bespoke treatment planning, and high-quality pigments allow us to achieve results that complement your face while ageing beautifully over time. Whether you’re looking for a subtle refresh or more defined features, every treatment is performed with precision, artistry, and attention to detail.

Permanent makeup is suitable for many people, including those with busy lifestyles, sparse brows, uneven lip colour, makeup allergies, or anyone who simply wants to spend less time getting ready each morning.

the art behind the outcome

Permanent makeup is often thought of as simply tattooing eyebrows or lips, but in reality it’s a highly specialised combination of technical skill, artistic judgement, and an understanding of how skin behaves over time.

Every face is unique. Before any pigment is placed, careful consideration is given to your facial proportions, natural muscle movement, existing hair growth, skin tone, and skin type. These factors all influence the design, colour selection, and technique used to create your treatment.

Unlike traditional body tattoos, permanent makeup is designed to heal softly and evolve naturally. This means choosing pigments, placement, and saturation that will continue to look flattering as the colour gradually softens over the years.

The goal isn’t to create a perfectly symmetrical face or dramatically alter your appearance. Instead, permanent makeup should restore balance, improve definition, and enhance the features you already have.

This level of planning is what transforms permanent makeup from a cosmetic procedure into an artistic treatment that complements your individual features while achieving beautiful healed results.

  • Permanent makeup is about far more than saving time each morning. It’s about enhancing your natural features in a way that feels effortless, giving you confidence whether you’ve just woken up, been to the gym, or are heading out for a special occasion.

For some clients, permanent makeup creates the appearance of fuller eyebrows after years of over-plucking or natural hair loss. For others, it’s about restoring definition to lips that have lost colour over time or achieving subtle enhancements that conventional makeup can’t provide every day.

Every treatment is completely bespoke. Rather than following trends or creating identical results for every client, each design is carefully tailored to suit your facial features, skin tone, lifestyle, and personal style. The aim is always the same - to create soft, balanced enhancements that look like you, only refreshed.

Permanent makeup is also an excellent option for clients with busy lifestyles, active careers, makeup allergies, dexterity difficulties, or anyone who wants to simplify their daily routine without compromising on how they look and feel.

At Brydge Ink, every treatment is approached with precision, artistry, and long-term thinking. Beautiful permanent makeup shouldn’t be obvious - it should simply enhance your natural beauty in a way that feels timeless.

  • One of the biggest misconceptions about permanent makeup is that darker, bolder results are better. In reality, the opposite is often true.

Beautiful permanent makeup should never dominate your face. It should be soft, balanced, and designed to enhance your natural features rather than becoming the first thing people notice.

Immediately after treatment, the colour will appear darker than the final healed result. Over the following weeks, as your skin heals, the pigment softens into a much more natural appearance. This is a normal and expected part of the healing process.

At Brydge Ink, we believe in building colour gradually rather than over-saturating the skin in a single appointment. This approach allows for beautifully healed results that age more predictably and can be refined during your perfecting session if needed.

Trends come and go, but your facial features remain uniquely yours. By focusing on natural enhancement instead of dramatic transformation, we create permanent makeup that you’ll still love years from now. Our philosophy is simple: the best permanent makeup doesn’t look like permanent makeup - it simply looks like you on your very best day.

  • One of the biggest misconceptions about permanent makeup is that it stays exactly the same forever, OR that it completely fades to nothing within a year.

In reality, modern permanent makeup is designed to fade gradually over time, allowing your treatment to evolve naturally with your skin and giving you the flexibility to refresh your look as trends and personal preferences change.

How quickly your permanent makeup fades depends on several factors, including your skin type, age, immune system, sun exposure, skincare routine, and the products you use. Frequent exfoliation, active ingredients such as retinol, and regular UV exposure can all increase the rate at which pigment fades.

The fade factor is also due to the pigments used and how densely they’re implanted. Soft shading will fade quicker than dense colour packing. More dilute pigments will less colour fast properties, or inorganic pigments will also fade quicker.

It’s best to know if you want your permanent makeup to fade quicker and have more refreshes if needed, or if you want it to last longer but be open to having a quick session of laser tattoo removal to soften them if you want a change of style or shape.

Many clients also worry that permanent makeup will eventually turn blue, grey, or orange. Modern pigments, combined with correct colour selection and implantation techniques, are specifically chosen to minimise unwanted colour changes. Choosing an experienced practitioner who understands colour theory and how pigments heal is one of the most important factors in achieving beautiful long-term results.

To keep your permanent makeup looking its best, we usually recommend a colour boost once the area is at least 50% softer than how it last healed. The more faded the better for long term results! Depending on the above factors and initial treatment goals, for some, that may be after  12 months, and for others that may be after 5+ years.

It’s important to note that without removal, even with diluted, soft pigment and a gentle application, that once you have a permanent makeup treatment, there will likely always be evidence of it in your skin. That’s why we call it permanent rather than semi permanent.

Our philosophy has always been to create permanent makeup that ages gracefully. By prioritising soft, natural enhancements over heavily saturated results, we can create treatments that continue to complement your features long after they’ve healed.

  • If you’re considering permanent makeup for the first time, it’s completely normal to have questions. Many clients tell us it’s the unknown that makes them feel nervous rather than the treatment itself. Our aim is to make the entire experience feel relaxed, informative, and tailored to you, so you’ll know exactly what to expect from your first enquiry through to your healed results.

    Your Consultation

Every permanent makeup treatment begins with a thorough consultation. We’ll discuss your goals, medical history, lifestyle, and the look you’d like to achieve. Whether you have a clear vision or simply know you’d like more definition, Beth will guide you through the options and recommend the most suitable treatment for you.

    Planning Your Treatment

One of the most important stages of permanent makeup is the planning process. We’ll carefully assess your facial features, skin tone, skin type, and natural hair growth before designing a shape that’s unique to you.

We’ll also discuss pigment selection, ensuring the colour complements your complexion and heals as naturally as possible. With brows the aim is generally to match your natural brow colour, and with lips, the best colour to aim for is the colour of your inner lip.

    Your Appointment

Before any treatment begins, your shape is carefully mapped. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to view the design, request adjustments, and approve everything before any pigment is implanted.

For lash liner, we don’t map as we follow your natural lash line only.

Throughout your appointment, your comfort is our priority. Beth works methodically and carefully, explaining each stage as we go, so you’ll always know what’s happening.

    Healing

Immediately after treatment, your permanent makeup will appear darker and more defined than the final healed result. Over the following weeks, the colour gradually softens as the skin heals.

It’s completely normal for the colour to appear uneven or lighter at certain stages of healing. This is all part of the process, and the true result isn’t visible until your skin has fully recovered.

    Your Perfecting Appointment

Around 6–12 weeks after your initial treatment, you’ll return for your perfecting appointment.

This allows us to reinforce colour where needed, refine any small details, and ensure your permanent makeup has healed as beautifully as possible. Think of the first appointment as creating the foundation and the second as perfecting the finished result.

From your first consultation to your healed treatment, we’re here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring you feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout your permanent makeup journey.
